Challenge

ZigBee has often been chosen to implement Wireless Sensory Networks (WSN) due to cost, power consumption, reliability, and ease of installation.  A ZigeeBee based WSN can be ex-panded to cover large areas, i.e. 10 to 50 miles.  When deploying a WSN for tracking outdoors, one needs to consider how to establish reference points. GPS data can be easily interfaced to Helicomm's EZ-Tracer system providing the required reference points. Upon such integration, a networking management station will learn quickly on the location on each GPS enabled sensor.

 

Solution

A major defense company adopted the Helicomm EZ-Tracer solution to construct a wireless real time tracking network.  This network consists of Helicomm technology enabled readers and tags; it also integrates GPS devices to provide location references for wireless network.  The readers will propagate GPS sensor date from tags or readers embedded with GPS sensors, back to the network controller.  The controller can issue TCP/IP socket connection to any remote location to propagate all the wireless sensor data on the network.
